Which is why we are excited to announce an opportunity to join our team as an Alarm Receiving Centre Operator, to join our Security and Resilience team based in our Frankley offices, Southwest Birmingham.

EVERYTHING YOU NEED TO KNOW


 

This role is 24 hours a day, 7 days a week shift role, working approx. 8 hours per shift and average of 37 hours per week. This role also includes an annual allowance for working weekends and shifts.
 

As an ARC Operator, you will work from the monitoring centre to monitor and respond to security issues and incidents using a range of systems. To provide a professional and efficient service to all responses following company procedures and using initiative.
 

Your role is key to delivering our brand promise of safeguarding supplies to our customers and ensuring water is always on, so a customer-focused attitude is imperative!
 

The right candidate will need to be passionate about security and show us you are able to promote and drive the right security culture across the business. In this role, you will need to operate and monitor all systems within the Alarm Receiving Centre and make sure that Security alarms are managed in accordance with operating procedures, legislation, and government guidance. You will also need to liaise with Police, other agencies, members of staff and contractors to make sure there is an appropriate emergency response in line with our procedures.
 

We want to see you taking end to end ownership of issues, by proactively identifying faults and making sure there are clear actions and timescales in place for resolution. Another element to this role means you’ll be involved in:

  • Monitor and Operate Systems: You’ll keep a vigilant eye on our security systems, ensuring all alarms are handled according to company procedures and legislation.
  • Coordinate Emergency Responses: Collaborate with internal teams, external partners, and authorities like the Police and Counter Terrorism Advisors to manage security incidents.
  • Incident Reporting: You’ll document every incident thoroughly, producing detailed reports that are essential for internal and external stakeholders.
  • Continuous Improvement: You’ll contribute to the ongoing enhancement of our security protocols and participate in exciting security improvement projects.
  • Proactive Problem Solving: Take ownership of issues, identify root causes, and drive resolutions with clear actions and timescales.
