We have an exciting opportunity for a highly motivated, passionate and self-starting individual to lead the teams within Water Treatment, based at Frankley.

 

The maintenance manager will be responsible for delivery of both the proactive and reactive maintenance plans across the region to ensure our assets are proactively maintained with minimal asset down time. 

 

The role holder will be expected to drive a real shift towards continuous improvement, asset optimization and performance improvement. They will be expected to act with pace and enthusiasm to move plans and opportunities through to implementation and tracking to secure tangible improvements. 

 

We are seeking a driven individual who can very quickly build a credible reputation and work closely with the water treatment south operational managers, planning & scheduling and the proactive asset health team to gain the best short and long term outcomes. 

 

The maintenance manager will lead, motivate and develop a team of highly skilled maintenance technicians across the region and ensure safety, quality and competence are excelled ensuring we are in the strongest possible position for AMP8. 

 

As well as the above, some of your key accountabilities will include… 

 

  • Lead, motivate and develop a team of highly skilled maintainers to ensure minimal asset failure/ maximum flexibility. 

  • Work closely with operational managers and senior technicians across WT South to ensure correct prioritisation of workloads, resource and investment.  

  • Ensure adequately skilled and competent maintenance teams are available to support 24/7 stand-by requirements across the region. 

  • Work collaboratively with the asset health & performance teams to ensure the right proactive maintenance programs and asset types are implemented across the region. 

  • Work collaboratively with the planning & scheduling team to ensure proactive and reactive maintenance workloads are delivered efficiently. 

  • Ensure teams are fully compliant / trained in ST safety standards and that no-one gets hurt as a result of the work we do. 

  • Focus on talent and getting the best out of team members by setting stretching targets, upskilling and delegating autonomy within the team. 

 

WHAT YOU’LL BRING TO THE ROLE 

 

In order to succeed in this role, it is expected that you will have a proven track record in managing, leading and inspiring teams in a customer-focused operational environment. You should also have technical experience of working within an operational maintenance environment with a focus on driving and sustaining performance improvements. 

 

The successful candidate will also need to have/display… 

 

  • Experience of working to tight deadlines, under pressure and with evolving and/or conflicting priorities including emergency situations. 

  • Highly skilled in drawing sound conclusions from data analytics, able to draw the appropriate level of insight and translate that into options and plans to improve performance. 

  • Operational budget management including planning 

  • Good interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to build a strong network of stakeholders to support delivery of the plan. 

  • Experience of successfully coaching, training and  motivating technically competent employees. 

  • Knowledge and experience of health & safety regulations and practices specifically related to maintenance activities.
