Technical Operator (Shifts)

EVERYTHING YOU NEED TO KNOW

 

Working within our forward-thinking Water Treatment department, it’s a great opportunity to be part of a large Operational team, striving for goal zero from a safety perspective, continuously improving site standards. In your role you will have the opportunity to embrace curiosity and learn new skills outside of your ‘day job’.

 

We are encouraged to find new ways of working, supporting us and our colleagues in fixing things for customers before they go wrong. You will be willing to learn new things and embrace the challenges you may face along the way.

 

Any additional technical training required will also be covered and great working hours too (Monday - Thursday 7.30am-3.30pm and Friday 7.30am-3pm). 

 

Some of your other key accountabilities will include:


• Operate groundwater treatment works (WTW, distribution service reservoirs (DSR) and distribution booster stations (DBS) associated assets in Frankley.
• Maintain & improve site standards/ identify Health and Safety improvements.
• Operate the assets under your control to ensure that all quality and quantity limits are met.
• Participate in an out of hours standby rota
• Ensure the Health & Safety of yourself, colleagues, visitors and members of the public is maintained at all times
• Ensure sites are operated at a minimum cost in an energy efficient way.
• Comply with statutory, company policies and procedures.
• Operate the assets under your control to ensure that there is no adverse impact on the environment.

 

This role is for a fixed period of 12 months.

 

WHAT YOU’LL BRING TO THE ROLE

 

Having experience in Working in a mechanical / electrical environment would be advantageous and working with chemical processes would be beneficial. A full valid UK driving licence would be required for the role. The successful candidate will be required to achieve the qualification Level 2 – Water Process Operator as part of their continuous development and delivered by our Academy.
