EVERYTHING YOU NEED TO KNOW ABOUT THE ROLE
As a Bioresources Projects Engineer, you will be a key member of a high performing team responsible for the management and delivery of Bioresources projects ranging in value between £100K to £2 million across the Severn Trent region.
The Bioresources Projects team drive and deliver a range of civil and mechanical projects across our asset base enabling the Operations and Biosolids teams to manage the treatment and disposal of biosolids (sludge). The team focus on the management, delivery and maintenance of the sludge digester and biosolids cake pad inspection and refurbishment programme in adherence with statutory requirements, and a series of mechanical and electrical projects. The team is responsible for ensuring the adherence to CDM regulations, exemplary health and safety standards and contract management. You will be responsible for developing and maintaining strong working relationships with our internal and external partners and stakeholders, specifically with our framework suppliers, the wider Bioresources Team, Capital and Commercial Services and Procurement teams.
This is predominantly a site-based role, working on a range of sites within the Bioresources region as determined by the statutory requirements of the Projects Team programme.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Application of the Health Safety and Well Being standards, achieving health, safety and compliance requirements within high-risk environments.
- Driving performance and instilling behaviours to achieve business KPI’s and objectives
- Lead and manage the delivery of several projects from end-to-end (concept, scoping, implementation and handover) ranging in value from £100K to £2m.
- Lead and drive the delivery of compliance against statutory and regulatory requirements through adherence to the refurbishment and inspection programme and governance of management information.
- Undertake financial management of projects from supporting the development of business cases to budget control and reporting, through to handover and capitalisation.
- Lead and apply a commercial mindset, ensuring informed and holistic decision making
- Managing contractors with high/med/low risk jobs and conducting safety audits
- Influencing stakeholders in the end-to-end project scheme delivery to ensure a 'right first-time delivery' for the end user.
WHAT YOU’LL BRING TO THE ROLE:
To succeed in this role, it is expected that you will have and develop:
- Experience of end-to-end delivery of civil or mechanical engineering projects within an operational environment.
- Strong understanding and experience of delivering first class Health and Safety management within high-risk environments
- An understanding of construction, design management (CDM) regulations, including roles and responsibilities
- Experience of managing multiple contractors and suppliers and projects simultaneously.
- Experience and ability to plan and deliver projects within budget and within timeframes.
- Strong stakeholder management skills with the ability to adapt communication styles to a range of individuals, within a multi-generational and diverse workplace.
- Strong IT skills, SharePoint, Word, Excel, PowerPoint
- Experience of assessing risk assessments and method statements
