Contracts Performance Lead

Want to do the best work of your life? Playing your part in making a big difference to the environment and communities we serve. Our people make Severn Trent a truly exciting and inclusive place to work – a place where you can be yourself and let your skills shine.

Our purpose is taking care of life’s essentials, but we’re also big on making a difference, not just because we should but because we care.

With that in mind, at Severn Trent, we are embarking on our largest capital investment programme yet, ensuring we continue to deliver outstanding services to our customers. To support this, we are looking for a Contract Performance & Risk Manager to lead and enhance the performance of our land and planning supply chain. This new role for AMP8 is crucial for the successful delivery of consultancy services, encompassing the use of statutory powers to access land, land acquisition, planning applications, environmental impact assessments, and a broad range of land and planning-related technical services to the business.

EVERYTHING YOU NEED TO KNOW

In this role, you’ll take ownership of supply chain performance and appointment, ensuring that key metrics and service delivery standards are met. You’ll monitor and report on KPIs, identifying trends and driving corrective actions where needed. You’ll also play a key role in risk management, ensuring any emerging issues are addressed proactively.

Collaboration is at the heart of this role. You’ll work closely with internal teams and external stakeholders, influencing improvements and driving efficiencies. Your insights will shape business decisions, ensuring that our supply chain delivers effectively and sustainably.

WHAT YOU’LL BRING TO THE ROLE

The successful candidate will bring with them the following skills:

  • A proactive, analytical approach with the ability to identify trends and drive data-led decisions.
  • Ability to manage data efficiently to ensure robust data integrity and seamless integration across systems.
  • Strong communication and influencing skills, with the confidence to challenge and improve processes.
  • A solution-focused mindset, always looking for ways to enhance efficiency and deliver results.
  • The ability to work at both a strategic and reactive level, solving problems and keeping projects on track.
  • The confidence to engage and influence stakeholders at all levels.

We need someone who has a strong background in contract and supply chain management, particularly in technical services. Capable of managing a business service request system to triage these requests, and allocate them appropriately to the supply chain. You should be comfortable working with data management and digital reporting, using insights to drive performance improvements. If you have a track record of identifying risks, implementing mitigation measures, and challenging existing processes, we’d love to hear from you!

Technical skills with Microsoft Office 365 applications, including SharePoint, Microsoft Lists, Forms, Power BI, and Power Automate, are highly desirable. Experience in the water industry or utilities sector is desirable, along with knowledge of delivering land access and land acquisition infrastructure projects. Knowledge of planning applications process, Environmental Impact Assessments, Biodiversity Net Gain, and the Water Industry Act 1991 powers are also beneficial. – but don’t worry if you don’t have this, as we’re looking for the right mindset as much as the experience.

We welcome people from all walks of life and celebrate individuality as we know diverse minds, experiences and backgrounds help us to learn and better serve our communities. We employ thousands of people from across our community who really care about what they do. Because that is how we do what we do.

And when it comes to inclusion, we’re making sure we keep up the progress with our wonderful working groups – LGBTQ+, Women in Operations & STEM, Disability and Ethnicity; who help us do just that.

We do more, because we care.
