EVERYTHING YOU NEED TO KNOW  

  

Working as a Junior Finance Business Partner at Severn Trent is a unique and high profile role. You will be working in a standalone role which will enable you to use your knowledge and experience of Analytics & big data but also expose you to the inner workings and strategic thinking of a FTSE 100 business.  You will be, on a daily basis, getting under the skin of what is happening with our core revenue and how we can interpret this for our wider business.  You will do this by preparing and improving our scheme of charges volumetric forecasting process, then linking this to our revenue performance to understand key areas of variance.

 

You will be looked upon to provide valuable information, insight and decision support to aid the forecasting of revenue through our tariff models and provide robust challenge when required. The role will also require you to have an understanding of the month end and reporting processes undertaken within your wider team and the impact of our scheme of charges, tariff setting and regulatory processes has on the wider business. 

 

Other key accountabilities for the role are:

 

  • Run, and support development of key datasets from Target and CMOS (billing systems) and maintain and update the scheme of charges modelling throughout the year
  • Develop, maintain and own effective working relationships with our Wholesale Market Unit, retail, Business Information and Strategy and Regulation teams to enable accurate forecasting and appropriate monitoring of revenue performance.
  • Conduct the budget process for revenue using the scheme of charges and tariff model outputs.
  • Support with annual APR reporting process, in particular data around customer volumes and usage and ownership of the properties data in the APR.
  • Conduct detailed analysis on variances, emerging risks and opportunities, and other areas of interest, getting to the bottom of complex problems and drawing insights from complex data
  • Working with other members of the team to build their business partnering skills
