Data and Analytics Engineer

We’re looking for a Data Engineer. The Data Engineer role is to make the most of our data and use our technology to create the data pipelines and ETL processes that feed automated reporting, insight, and predictive modelling capabilities.


The role holder will also need to provide and develop their own automated reporting, modelling, insight and analytics to support the planning process.


You will support a range of applied analytical projects and assignments and play a key role in establishing an advanced analytics platform across the business; Ranging from the design and creation of cloud-hosted data sources and the implementation of automated Power BI Dashboards and Machine Learning models to build and develop insightful analysis to drive key business actions.

We are flexible in location: You can either be based at our Pride Park site where you’ll be able to park for free or get to with ease with loads of local travel options. The other option would be Severn Trent Centre, Coventry.  You’ll work within alongside our 280 strong Workforce Planning & Optimisation Team who all love what they do.


 In turn delighting our customers & making a real difference across our region.





You’ll have experience of building and deploying datasets and solutions to the MS Azure cloud through Synapse, SQL, Blob Storage, Data Lake etc.


You will be tasked to manage and design the development of Planning reporting and data sets and analytics, engaging with key stakeholders to understand and translate business needs/reporting requirements to solutions.


You’ll be liaising with stakeholders to determine appropriate data sources and ensure access is formally agreed. You will also be defining and shaping analytical/reporting requirements, delivering both tactical and strategic solutions.


You’ll have practical knowledge of database and data warehouse fundamentals and software engineering practices including code review, GitHub and governance.


Proven experience in influencing senior stakeholders to deliver operational improvements. It is important you are proactive in the use of continuous improvement and problem-solving techniques to identify issues,

solutions and implement and sustain best practice solutions.


Understanding of data visualisation tools and methods such as Power BI are essential.
