EVERYTHING YOU NEED TO KNOW
Our Water Quality and Environment team have an opportunity for you to join as our new Flow Compliance Team Manager.
In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring full compliance with the MCERTS (Monitoring Certification Scheme) Self Monitoring of Flow requirements. This involves overseeing all aspects of the company’s MCERTS flow measurement installations, including monitoring, analysis, and reporting. You will lead a team of technical experts, develop strategic plans to meet evolving regulatory demands, and ensure all necessary processes and procedures are in place for external audits.
Additionally, you will manage MCERTS-related capital maintenance and operational expenses, serve as the primary contact for key stakeholders, and build positive relationships with regulatory bodies and other industry players. You will also lead the delivery of external audit requirements, ensuring ongoing compliance and enhancing the profile of accurate flow measurement across the business.
Key accountabilities will include:
- Singly accountable for ensuring that all of the company’s MCERTS flow installations on sewage treatment works and future water treatment works are compliant with the MCERTS scheme by designing strategies and managing programmes of recertification, operational or capital improvement and new capital schemes over the AMP period;
- Ensuring MCERTS is embedded into business as usual across the company;
- Own and manage the MCERTS budgets to ensure that the financial expenditure is appropriately used and cost-effective to the business delivering the best TOTEX solution.
- Act as a Company expert and single point for internal /external stakeholders and regulators (EA, WaSCs and MCERTS industry groups) to ensure positive relationships and correct profile of flow related issues.
- Provide high level contract management of suppliers to ensure our requirements are being met but also improved on.
- Leadership of a team of technical experts.
- Act with a high degree of autonomy in developing flow improvement related strategies across the AMP period without reference to predetermined plans or advice.
WHAT YOU’LL BRING TO THE ROLE
In order to be successful in this role, you must have a comprehensive understanding of flow measurement and compliance, particularly in relation to MCERTS regulations. You will be solely accountable for ensuring compliance across all water and wastewater sites, with significant autonomy to create and implement strategies that meet both regulatory and business requirements.
As the company’s chief expert in this area, you will be responsible for fostering positive and constructive relationships with regulatory bodies while also enhancing the internal profile of flow-related issues, which are currently challenging. This role requires you to lead collaboration across multiple teams and contractors, developing tailored plans to achieve and maintain compliance.
