Here at Severn Trent, we’re on the hunt for a highly skilled and experienced IT Network Manager to lead our team of network engineers. In this high-profile role, you’ll oversee all operational data and voice networks, ensuring their optimal performance and reliability. As the technical authority for these systems, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining our network infrastructure to support the company's business objectives.

 

We’ll be expecting you to lead the Technology Network Operations delivery and support functions as well as the Critical Environments team, taking accountability for the team’s communication, processes, delivery, and performance.  We’ll look for you to enable delivery of end-to-end service through excellent Management and dynamic Leadership.

 

Key Accountabilities for the role include:-

  • Technical ownership of all network and voice platforms and devices as an expert the field.
  • communication infrastructure and operations services on a 24x7 basis across 300+ sites
  • Ensure team have the correct tools and support to provide swift and thorough 2nd and 3rd line technical support
  • Accountable for technical leadership and direction on major implementations and incidents including, but not limited to, connectivity services
  • Overall responsibility for the current on-premises data centres, specifically all network services and connections
  • Leadership of the Network and Critical environment teams across the various disciplines to develop, implement, manage, and maintain technology
  • Provide focus into continual improvement and asset mitigation such as technical debt across the estate, providing proactive options where possible

 

WHAT YOU’LL BRING TO THE ROLE

 

Of course, it’s important that we attract the right skill sets, and those with the right experience but we value character, positivity, and a caring attitude in equal weight.

 

Technically, we’ll be looking for you to have extensive experience of engineering and technical management of cisco routing and switching and well as knowledge of Meraki devices & Azure networking estate.  Also, an understanding of VoIP technologies, SIP trunks and IVR solutions could be beneficial.

 

These technical skills are to compliment your excellent written and verbal communication skills, Self-motivation with an ability to prioritise workload and team management as well as Leadership and motivating skills including the ability to delegate whilst retaining management control.
