EVERYTHING YOU NEED TO KNOW
We are looking for an Internal Audit Analyst to join our Finance team on a 12 month fixed-term contract, where you will be part of the planning and undertaking of internal audits across the various business areas we have in Severn Trent Group.
You will play a key part in improving the management of risks to business processes and objectives throughout the organisation and this will be done by building excellent relationships with Managers and colleagues across the business.
Key responsibilities will include:
- Perform high quality detailed reviews and assessments of a wide range of key business activities and the controls in place, within prescribed timetables.
- Prepare high quality, concise audit reports (with clear executive summaries) for delivery to Senior Managers and Directors within the business.
- Liaise effectively with Strategic Leads, Business Leads, outsourced partners and other business staff, to build good working relationships.
- Identify process and control weaknesses in the management of business risks and make practical and commercial recommendations for improvement.
- Coach a sound understanding of risk and control into the employee population.
- Provide value adding, ad-hoc advice and input to business process change.
WHAT YOU’LL BRING TO THE ROLE
We’ll be looking for you to ideally have an understanding of the fundamentals of audit, risk and control, however this is not essential.
We would want you to have an ability to assess processes though, along with the assessing risks and controls and developing practical and commercial recommendations for improvement.
A broad knowledge of commercial and operational activities in business will be useful, as will a good understanding of risk and control ‘best practice’ techniques.
