EVERYTHING YOU NEED TO KNOW
Within our highly engaging Communications team, we’re on the lookout for a Communications Business Partner to join us, becoming an integral part of our team that deliver wonderful colleague experiences.
In this high-profile role you’ll be working alongside a Senior Leadership Team and you’ll be responsible for overseeing and delivering the strategic internal communication plan for one of Severn Trent’s largest business areas. This will involve managing all the communication to our colleagues but also the relevant messages which go to our wider Severn Trent Group.
Working within the dedicated team of Internal Communications specialists, you’ll deliver a wide range of bespoke and effective employee engagement and internal communication activities that align with the overall directorate objectives and wider Severn Trent strategy. You’ll also act as an account manager within the wider Group communications, PR and marketing teams, ensuring that business stakeholders have one main point of contact, while you tap into the broader skills across the team.
What you’ll be responsible for:
- Lead on the development and delivery of the strategic internal communications plan for the business directorate ensuring it aligns with both the key objectives of the directorate and the broader communications strategy.
- Develop the internal messaging and channel strategy for our colleagues ensuring we can effectively communicate with them and provide them with the essential information they need – both at a strategic level and day to day support.
- Work closely with the Group Communications Team, directorate leadership team and other key stakeholders to produce compelling communications content, events and campaigns that help support the business objectives.
- Oversee all relevant leadership and change communications and provide counsel to the SMT as necessary.
- Create awesome employee moments and help to drive employee engagement across the directorate.
- Engage with operational and management teams to make sure that communications land effectively.
- Amplifying the big companywide campaigns within your business area, and also ensuring your business areas comms reach their key audiences.
WHAT YOU’LL BRING TO THE ROLE

In this role your stakeholder management capabilities, your ability to deliver new and innovative campaigns and events will be utilised on a daily basis. You’ll need excellent networking and stakeholder management skills, being able to influence in a fast paced environment.
We’ll be looking for you to be a proven senior internal communications and engagement professional with experience of communication with either large field based or dispersed teams, as well as experience in developing and implementing communication plans that helps the business meet its goals.
It would be great if you also had experience in handling the design and delivery of engaging employee messaging and campaigns to operational or frontline line teams.
