Our Chief Engineer Team is currently looking for a Lead Project Manager to lead an integrated team of Severn Trent and contract staff, ensuring the safe and efficient delivery of our Security Capital Programme. You’ll work with key internal and external stakeholders to meet programme delivery and regulatory requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Programme Delivery: Work alongside contract partners and the Capital Delivery Commercial team to ensure efficient and optimised delivery of a significant programme of works.
- Team Leadership: Directly manage a team of project managers and project engineers, along with external contract partners.
- Project Management: Ensure projects deliver value for customers and are safe to operate and maintain. Perform the role of CDM and NEC Project Manager as required.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Develop strong working relationships with stakeholders inside and outside Severn Trent to ensure successful project delivery and handover.
- Financial Management: Handle financial management of projects, ensuring accurate forecasting and budget allocation.
- Risk Management: Identify and manage risks impacting the Capital Programme, ensuring compliance with legislation and statutory obligations.
- Team Development: Develop technical and leadership capabilities within your team, managing performance and supporting development opportunities.
- Resource and Budget Accountability: Oversee the Programme Team, including Project Managers, Project Coordinators, Site Supervisors, and Commissioning Engineers.
WHAT YOU’LL BRING TO THE ROLE
To excel in this role, you should have extensive experience influencing a diverse set of stakeholders to achieve programme objectives. You’ll need a proven track record of leading programme teams, both internal and external, in delivering high-risk, high-complexity, and high-value projects.
You should also have extensive experience implementing CDM regulations in project delivery, working to standards, codes, and practices, and collaborating closely with the supply chain to ensure adherence to deliverables, milestones, specifications, health and safety, outputs, and quality.
Additionally, experience managing and leading the delivery of security projects is crucial.
As travel is required, you’ll also hold a full U.K driving licence.
