Our Energy team is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Utilities Manager to oversee our Utilities team and manage the end-to-end metering and billing processes for electricity, gas and water. This role is crucial in safeguarding our c.£300m budget by ensuring the accuracy and efficiency of our utility billing and data systems whilst meeting our regulatory metering requirements.
EVERYTHING YOU NEED TO KNOW
The Utilities Manager will lead a team of 6 professionals to handle the metering and billing processes for electricity, gas and water billing. This role also involves overseeing data systems and analytics to provide reliable insights, meet regulatory compliance, and drive business improvements. Key responsibilities include:
- Implementing full bill validation processes to minimize operational expenditure and manage, maintain, and replace utility metering across approximately 7500 sites with 8000 meters, in line with regulatory requirements.
- Provide data reporting and insights for energy cost forecasting and collaborating with finance to set reasonable business plans and budgets.
- Contract managing our data collector, meter services provider, and energy suppliers with a total value of c£500k per annum and work with internal and external stakeholders to identify and implement process improvements.
- Awareness of market updates and regulatory changes which will impact the business and lead on project delivery and business change, as required.
WHAT YOU’LL BRING TO THE ROLE
To be successful in this role you’ll have excellent stakeholder management skills, great attention to detail and brilliant with data. It would also be beneficial if you have management experience or come from a financial or utilities background.
