Potable Tanks Central Team Manager

We have a brilliant opportunity to join Water network Operations and Leakage department as Potable Tanks Central Team Manager!
 
Whilst in this role, you will lead a team of Potable Tank Programme Co-Ordination Specialists, ensuring timely delivery of our annual flood testing and inspection programme and overseeing their development. You will manage accurate data processes for business and regulatory reporting.
You will ensure compliance with Health and Safety, Environmental, Quality, and Water Hygiene requirements, driving continuous improvement and a positive culture within Severn Trent and Hafren Dyfrdwy. Allocating weekly schedules to the regional Potable Tanks Team will enhance productivity and programme turnaround.
You will shape future inspection and investment plans to maintain regulatory compliance and high water quality standards. All potable tanks will receive equal care, and you will promote timely investment for proactive tank isolation and inspection, demonstrating commercial acumen to deliver high standards at the lowest cost.

Your key accountabilities in helping us will be:

 

•    Lead the Central Potable Tanks Team (around 6 FTE’s) to successfully deliver the annual potable tanks inspection programme;
•    Line management responsibilities for healthy and safety, team member development and technical progression;
•    Engage with the Potable Tanks Team Delivery Team, Potable Tanks Enabling Team, local Treatment Teams, the Network Optimisation Team  and Network Intervention Team to ensure the programme is delivered safely, on time and to budget;
•    Accountable for annual programme delivery and proactive forward planning to hit right first time every time;
•    Identify and challenge obstacles which may slow programme delivery
•    Carry out ad-hoc audits for data testing, to ensure the required standards are being maintained for regulatory reporting;
•    Proactively identify gaps or blockers which could delay the programme and find solutions to these problems before the scheduled inspection date;
•    Provide timely and accurate data business reporting purposes
•    Ensure health and safety standards are maintained at all times on for your team if visiting sites.
•    Co-ordinate and engage with internal and external stakeholders and customers;
•    Encourage the use of corporate reporting systems and ensure they are kept up to date for future use;

 

WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR 
 
In order to succeed in this role, you need suitable health, safety, environmental, and quality qualifications, along with a Water Hygiene Blue Card. A solid understanding of water quality standards, water treatment processes, and water quality risks is essential.
You should have experience in leading teams, excellent interpersonal skills, and a proactive mindset. Personal maturity and the ability to uphold standards are crucial. You must be able to resolve water quality issues, manage your time effectively, and work independently.
Influencing others without direct authority, communicating effectively up to CEO level, and analyzing data to make informed decisions are important skills. Being IT literate, familiar with STW systems, and holding a full UK driving licence are also required
