EVERYTHING YOU NEED TO KNOW
Our Network Control team have an opportunity for you to join as our new Proactive Waste Controller.
In the this role your objective will be to provide intelligent proactive insight into how our wastewater assets are operating, to reduce environmental risk and costs. It will also involve coordinating the operational response to alarms/alerts and predicted asset failures on the wastewater network.
You will be expected to identify waste water assets that are performing outside their standard operating range or at risk of causing future pollution/flooding incidents, grow technical understanding within Waste OCC of predictive and proactive interventions on the end to end waste system.
Some of your other key accountabilities will include:
- Interpretation of management information and data in relation asset performance, to highlight operability issues and prevent failure.
- Responsible for the identification and resolution of potential operational risk, through engagement with key stakeholders.
- Responding to sewer sensor alarms to proactively prevent and respond to pollution/flooding events.
- Interpreting and actioning pressure data on rising mains to understand asset performance and prevent asset failure.
- Learning and embedding new predictive sewer blockage processes into business as usual.
- Building strong relationships with external experts and other water companies to embed industry best practice.
- Escalation of long standing problematic assets issues.
- Responsible for assisting the ongoing delivery and continuous improvement activity within Waste OCC.
- Manage asset failure or problems on the Wastewater system including Incident support.
WHAT YOU’LL BRING TO THE ROLE
To be successful, it’s expected that you’ll have knowledge of the end to end waste water system, from distribution, treatment and bioresources. Experience of generating and analysing data to find root cause of issues, identifying improvement activities and taking ownership through to resolution would also be helpful.
