We have a brilliant opportunity to join our Water Infra department as a Project Engineer!
While in this role, you will play a key role in leading and managing the project team and project lifecycle (from business case approval to design completion) ensuring all project deliverables are achieved on time, within cost and to agreed quality standards.
You will scope and create project plan with input from the framework consultant, and perform the role of NEC Service Manager (or elements of it) when delegated by the Design Manager (Delegation of Authority to be confirmed).

EVERYTHING YOU NEED TO KNOW
Your key accountabilities in helping us will be:
- Ensure Severn Trent Water discharges its duties as Client in accordance with CDM regulations for all projects within his/her portfolio.
- Manage internal and external stakeholders and customers (from the creation of the stakeholder strategy to review and feedback at closure). This includes ensuring projects are positively publicised and customer and media contacts are managed
- Adhere to the Capital Delivery project standards ensuring process maps are followed and that deliverables are appropriately allocated and completed prior to each Gate.
- Assist in the preparation and submission of Business Cases / to STW governance boards for direction and approval. Prepare and submit gate papers to relevant governance bodies
- Assist the Project Manager in financial management of projects to ensure accurate and robust financial forecasting and budgetary allocation.
- Facilitate handover from the Investment Planning team to the design Consultant after problem identification stage, Ensure all appropriate handover procedures are followed and that a post project review is undertaken
- Identify and manage risks and opportunities (accurately forecasting the impact) which could impact on the delivery of the Capital Programme.
- Ensure compliance with external legislation (e.g. NRSWA/TMA/ Environmental/ Planning).
- Establish and maintain a rhythm of meetings to monitor progress, provide updates to PMO, identify issues and ensure the implementation of remedial actions. Ensure project/contract correspondence is recorded in writing.
- Facilitate the resolution of issues arising between STW and other utilities, statutory bodies and statutory undertakers, e.g., power, gas, Network Rail, British Waterways, Highway Authorities, Councils, etc. Ensure escalations are raised with the Programme Manager.
- Drive safety improvement performance within the design stage. The safety of employees, customers, public and those impacted by our operations is paramount.
- Ensure STW statutory obligations and outcomes are met for the programme of work being delivered.
- Respond to and address incidents/accidents as and when they occur and ensure the root cause is identified and actions taken to prevent re-occurrence
- Lead Post Investment Reviews ensuring lessons learned are captured and embedded
