Senior Stakeholder & Community Engagement Manager

In this unique and high-profile role, our Senior Stakeholder & Community Engagement Manager, will work with all areas of our business to help manage our external stakeholders and support our customers and communities. This will include Councillors, Local Authorities and environment groups, our regulators and community organisations throughout our region.

 

We’ll look for you to ensure Severn Trent Water has a clear stakeholder strategy from design through to delivery, which we are able to implement and incorporate in all of the fantastic work and engagement activities our community comms team undertake. You’ll be a Leader, overseeing our stakeholder team, with the responsibility for developing relationships with key local stakeholders as well as tracking sentiment, developing and delivering plans and keeping everyone informed about our work in their area.

 

Other key accountabilities include:

  • Overseeing the delivery of a well-executed events and engagement programme and supporting activity to engage stakeholders and the wider public.
  • Developing the external messaging and channel strategy for our regional stakeholders, ensuring we can effectively and regularly communicate with them, providing them with the essential information they need.
  • Working closely with the wider Comms team and wider business to produce an E2E stakeholder journey, using compelling communications content.
  • Overseeing all relevant regional stakeholder communications.
  • Providing mechanisms and data into and out of the Comms team and wider business to drive down complaints from stakeholders, create advocacy and improve our reputation.

 

WHAT YOU’LL BRING TO THE ROLE

We’ll be looking for you to have a strong background in communications and engagement, coupled with extensive stakeholder experience gained in either the public or private sector, being able to demonstrate how you have supported the delivery of business priorities, as well as proactively managing reputational issues, using insight to help shape your plans.

We’ll want you to be politically astute, able to bring an external insight into our decision-making processes and driving improvements that will enhance our reputation externally, as well as managing risk.
