Transformation Project Manager

LET’S CUT STRAIGHT TO IT

Want to do the best work of your life? Playing your part in making a big difference to the environment and communities we serve. Our people make Severn Trent a truly exciting and inclusive place to work – a place where you can be yourself and let your skills shine.

Our purpose is taking care of life’s essentials, but we’re also big on making a difference, not just because we should but because we care.

Projects in Severn Trent are something else.  We work in an environment which could change all the time, so we have our own project function which is able to move and adapt with our business.  As a team we work on high value, high risk, high complexity, cross company programmes that align with the corporate strategy of Severn Trent. As a Senior Project Manager, your primary role will be to lead the full project life cycle from inception to delivery to ensure that the completed work supports Severn Trent’s strategic ambitions and delivery for our customers, as these are at the heart of everything we do.

In this role you will deliver business change and be accountable for project planning and reporting activities where building strong links with business teams is essential, ensuring best practice is developed, shared, implemented, and recorded.  You will be expected to work on targeted tactical programmes that deliver value to the end user.

Are you a project manager with strong, proven experience of delivering large scale business change, do you have experience of both waterfall and agile working?

Well, if you are, read on.

LET’S TELL YOU MORE

This role will be leading on and accountable for delivery of a major business change project which is happening over the next two years.  This will include workstreams focused on people, process and a technology solution.  This will be delivered over the project life cycle in line with Delivery Management Office standards, ensuring key activities are planned and lessons learned captured.

You will be expected to build a compelling case for change identifying options for delivery, underpinned by robust assumptions which are tested throughout the project lifecycle. You will be actively engaging with the Business areas to map ‘as is’ and ‘to be’ processes, identifying risks/blockers and identifying people and processes required to make a new tech solution work efficiently.

WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR

Of course, it’s important that we attract the right skill sets, and those with the right experience but we value character, positivity and a caring attitude in equal weight.

We want people who show up and roll their sleeves up. Restless spirits who are ready to be part of something bigger, who care, who really care... because when you really care, you’ll go above and beyond. When you really care you don’t just talk about it, you do more.

For this role we are looking for you to have experience of working on large projects, ideally where business change (people and process change) has been the focus.  Your ability to deliver change by engaging those receiving the change is essential and thus are looking for strong stakeholder engagement and communication skills.

We welcome people from all walks of life and celebrate individuality as we know diverse minds, experiences and backgrounds help us to learn and better serve our communities. We employ thousands of people from across our community who really care about what they do. Because that is how we do what we do.

And when it comes to inclusion, we’re making sure we keep up the progress with our wonderful working groups – LGBTQ+, Women in Operations & STEM, Disability and Ethnicity; who help us do just that.

We do more, because we care.

HOW WE’LL REWARD AND CARE FOR YOU IN RETURN

It’s not just a job you’ll get here, you’ll get a career too. We have a range of benefits that reward and recognise great work and award-winning training to ensure you reach your potential.
