EVERYTHING YOU NEED TO KNOW
In this role as a Waste System Specialist, you'll play a crucial role in managing the maintenance of over 6,000 waste sensors across our network. In this exciting new position, you'll work closely with various teams, including the Operational Control Centre, Waste Network Operations, and Asset Planning, to ensure data accuracy and optimize waste network operations. With opportunities to implement process improvements and directly support business-critical functions, this role offers a dynamic environment where you can make a meaningful impact.

Other main key accountabilities will include:
- Working collaboratively with key internal and external stakeholders to drive performance improvements, through the development of efficient processes and analysis of performance data to reduce false alarms and resolve sensor faults.
- To be a subject matter expert for waste sensors, providing technical support and guidance in relation to sensors.
- Identifying and exploring new innovation opportunities in data logging, including tender delivery support.
- Promotion and optimisation of the sensor estate to support delivery of STW strategic objectives.
- Improve site resilience and communications across the waste sensor estate.
- Monitor supplier compliance against set SLAs and KPIs to deliver quicker resolutions.
- Improved visibility and feedback loop of maintenance visits and activities, reporting on status of fleet to key stakeholders
WHAT YOU’LL BRING TO THE ROLE
In order to succeed in the role of Waste System Specialist, you'll need a deep understanding of remote data telemetry sensors and their applications within STW and the broader industry.
Demonstrating previous experience in a technical capacity or possessing strong technical acumen is essential. A solid grasp of our waste network operations and familiarity with associated Operational Delivery Indicators (ODIs) are key.
Preferably, you should also have knowledge of hydraulic modelling, catchment performance, and system behaviour in saturated ground conditions. With these qualifications, you'll be well-equipped to excel in optimizing waste network operations and contributing to our environmental sustainability goals.
