Work Experience and Outreach Specialist

Do you love that no two days are the same? That's one of the many reasons we enjoy working in HR at Severn Trent.

At Severn Trent, we’re on a mission to make a big difference over the next 10 years, to improve the lives of 100,000 people by giving them better opportunities and tackling water poverty. Every year, we work with hundreds of young people across our region and provide over 10,000 hours of free skills and employability training in local communities.

If you want to do more because you care, we’d love to talk to you. We’re now looking for someone to take a lead in this role and play a vital part in our societal strategy.

EVERYTHING YOU NEED TO KNOW

We have an opportunity for you to join us as a Work Experience and Outreach Specialist, where you’ll play a vital role in our commitment to supporting young people across our region  and key community groups.

As we transition into a new programme delivery model, you’ll be in charge of designing and delivering a number of different interventions including; explore days, placements, work experience programmes (i.e. care leavers), site visits, and our virtual work experience offering  for young people and the wider community. You’ll need to have great communication and interpersonal skills for daily interactions with participants, colleagues and third parties. Keeping our colleagues and participants safe and well is incredibly important to us as a business so a good understanding of health & safety practices, risks assessments and safeguarding is desirable.

With our focus on social value and creating meaningful opportunities, you’ll be accountable for delivering engaging content as part of our explore days and broader programmes for schools and community groups, so a strong presence and facilitation skills are essential.

You’ll take the lead in assessing how effective the materials and content used in our programmes are, and carrying out impact assessments to keep improving what we offer and the results we achieve. Plus, you’ll be responsible for reporting our social value and metrics related to new talent.

A genuine passion for creating opportunities and supporting individuals in our community is at the heart of everything we do.

Sound like you? Then read on.

WHAT YOU’LL BRING TO THE ROLE

We’re on the lookout for someone super organised with a keen eye for detail and great communication skills. You’ll excel in managing relationships and be able to work independently while keeping on top of deadlines. Your background in programme design and delivery, along with your strong facilitation skills, will help you to deliver engaging sessions to young people and our communities.

A valid driver’s licence and access to a vehicle is essential, as this role involves travel.

The right skills and experience are important. But if you have the right character, positivity, and a caring attitude we want to talk to you too.

We welcome people from all walks of life and celebrate individuality as we know diverse minds, experiences and backgrounds help us to learn and better serve our communities. We want people who show up and get involve. Those who are ready to be part of something bigger and who want to make a difference because they care.
