We’re looking for a Metering Operations Lead to join our Customer Performance Leadership Team to steer our transition into Smart Metering and transform robust meter reading and customer maintenance programmes.

As our Metering Operations Lead, you'll be at the forefront of our strategic and operational priorities for revenue metering delivering:
- Leadership & Strategy: Drive the delivery of key metering initiatives, from accurate meter readings to handling field enquiries, ensuring our operations run smoothly.
- Customer-Centric Growth: Play a pivotal role in shaping and advancing our metering strategy, with a strong focus on delivering exceptional customer service.
- Transformational Impact: Lead transformative projects within Metering Services, continuously enhancing the quality of service we provide to our customers.
- Team Leadership: Inspire and coach the Metering Services team to achieve excellence, fostering a culture of top-tier customer service.
- Revenue Assurance: Ensure timely and accurate meter readings, and efficiently manage billing queries, contributing to the effective collection of our measured income.
In this role, you’ll lead and inspire a large, customer orientated team of over 300 staff based across the Midlands. Based on the important interface with your team you will be required to travel across our region, but your base will be Raynesway, Derby.

WHAT YOU’LL BRING TO THE ROLE
To excel as our Metering Operations Lead, you’ll have extensive experience in the water or utility sector, covering a wide range of business and operational activities. Additionally, you'll have been responsible for managing large field-based operations across multiple locations, with a focus on meter reading and customer-facing activities.
Driving performance improvements to boost revenue collection and ensure accurate customer billing is a key aspect of this role. Your experience at a senior leadership level will enable you to influence and engage senior stakeholders effectively in a highly regulated environment. If you have a proven track record in these areas, this role offers an exciting opportunity to lead and make a significant impact.
You'll embody a fundamental customer ethos, with passion and enthusiasm that drives a strong focus on quality and results. You'll view challenges as opportunities, demonstrating resilience in the face of setbacks. Your ability to develop and implement both short-term and long-term strategic plans will be crucial in delivering the required outputs.
Additionally, you'll use sound judgment to make balanced decisions on complex problems quickly and effectively. Your role will also involve interfacing with regulators and other external stakeholders, requiring demonstrable technical competence.
