Asset Engineer
Want to do the best work of your life? Playing your part in making a big difference to the environment and communities we serve. Our people make Severn Trent a truly exciting and inclusive place to work – a place where you can be yourself and let your skills shine. Our purpose is taking care of life’s essentials, but we’re also big on making a difference, not just because we should but because we care.
Do you have an interest in the Assets that support our wonderful wastewater network? Does the idea of working to improve and sustain the performance of assets interest you?
We have a fantastic opportunity for an Asset Engineer to join our team to support the overall successful operation of our waste networks. This role will be based at our site in Raynesway, Derby.
EVERYTHING YOU NEED TO KNOW
Our role of Asset Engineer is a fantastic opportunity to join our Tactical Asset Planning team across our network of wastewater sites. If you have previous experience working across wastewater networks supported by advanced data analysis skills, this could be the opportunity for you!
As an Asset Engineer, you’ll work with our Tactical Asset Planning Manager and Senior Asset Engineers in data gathering and analysis to ensure the overall successful operation of our waste networks. In doing so you will be involved in the diagnosis of issues, creating improvement and investment plans all in support of our business objectives. You will also be writing business cases and liaising with a varied group of internal and external stakeholders, prioritising investment in our assets.
With the overall aim of improving asset health you will have an ongoing focus on continuous improvement in the methods and processes we use to invest in our network.
We’re wanting someone to come into this role to analyse potential problems to get a better understanding of them and find a way to promote a fix to solve them to ensure we are fit for the future. If this sounds like something you could do, read on!!
WHAT YOU’LL BRING TO THE ROLE
Apart from being a great fit for the team you will need proven experience working across wastewater networks to support in the important work we conduct across our asset base.
This is an asset management related role, rather than a direct engineering position. As part of this role, you will determine where investment should be made, investigate overall trends of performance to identify new problem areas and most importantly manage risks to our assets.
In this role, you will be preparing succinct and compelling technical reports and business cases, so strong verbal and written communication skills will be crucial in the success of positive outcomes.
We welcome people from all walks of life and celebrate individuality as we know diverse minds, experiences and backgrounds help us to learn and better serve our communities. We want people who show up and get involve. Those who are ready to be part of something bigger and who want to make a difference because they care. Is that you?
