We’re wanting someone to come into this role to analyse potential problems to get a better understanding of them and find a way to promote a fix to solve them to ensure we are fit for the future.
This is a fantastic opportunity for a Senior Asset Engineer to join our team at our site in Raynesway, Derby for a 9 month full time contract.

EVERYTHING YOU NEED TO KNOW
Cutting straight to it, as a Senior Asset Engineer you’ll:
- Be responsible for understanding and interrogating your asset class performance, creating and developing robust investment plans and supporting the strategic vision for the company's future.
- Lead the development and continuous improvement of a proactive risk methodology for the asset class.
- Show a good understand of and effectively communicates the asset health of said class (or classes)
- Be accountable for competent specialist responsibilities as well leading and the coaching of entrant and competent specialists within the tactical planning team.
- Represent the business externally, actively participating and collaborating across the industry to support the continuous development of our assets and provides insights to support business strategy.
- Be a key enabler of effective and consistent decision making for Operation & Maintenance as well as capital investment decisions.
As a Senior Asset Engineer, you’ll support our Tactical Asset Planning Manager as well as Engineers within the team and will be responsible for one or more of the asset classes identified within the Waste Networks subservice of Severn Trent.
The role will be all encompassing, allowing you the flexibility to pursue your passion for technical curiosity, whilst coaching and mentoring throughout the business to act as an asset class expert.

WHAT YOU’LL BRING TO THE ROLE
- A technical expert in understanding the Waste Network system
- A good understanding of financial and project management lifecycles and the business planning process
- Ability to present to stakeholders as well as contributing to communities of practice and steering groups meetings amongst others.
- An expertise in data management, hydraulic modelling, construction techniques and risk mitigation to aid decision making.
Apart from being a great fit for the team you will need proven experience working across wastewater networks to support in the important work we conduct across our asset base. This is an asset management related role, rather than a direct engineering position. As part of this role, you will determine where investment should be made, investigate overall trends of performance to identify new problem areas and most importantly manage risks to our assets.
