We are looking for a EICA Lead in the Green Recovery Wanlip STW Team!

 

While in this role, you will play a key role in expanding Severn Trent’s second largest Wastewater Treatment works. The project is the largest to be undertaken in Severn Trent and is one of Severn Trent’s key projects to be delivered in AMP7 and AMP8.

 

Severn Trent have a need for a full time Electrical Lead for this programme of work to act on behalf of the Client under the contract on technical matters supporting the Technical Lead and the Project Management Team.

Ensure design compliance to specifications, provide expert guidance and steer the design as necessary to achieve the project outcomes. Be expected to be a Chartered Engineer with the IET and be a technical expert in Electrical design.

 

The Electrical Lead will have an excellent understanding of the Construction Design and Management Regs and have experience in the roles of Designer.

EVERYTHING YOU NEED TO KNOW

 

Your key accountabilities in helping us will be:

 

Responsible for all EICA design decisions on the Green Recovery Wanlip Programme and be responsible for checking, reviewing and accepting contractors EICA design outputs.

Provide technical expertise and technical input for delivering the optimum Electrical solution for a project including learning from other projects. Support the Project Management team with Design Acceptance under the contract.

 

Identify and review deviations from Severn Trent’s standards and support the Project Management Team in taking these deviations to the relevant standards owners or Standards Approval Board for approval.

Ensure Severn Trent’s H&S standards are adhered to in relation to the design, in particular standards relating to functional safety, HazOp, HazCon, DSEAR and the CDM Regs.

 

Communicate lessons learned from the project to the wider business and develop younger and less experienced engineers working on the programme of work, driving innovation and develop new approaches and solutions

Establish network of external stakeholders to capture learnings, understand innovation and best practice and build into the plans for Capital Design technical standards

Provide input to the L&D strategy for the Design community and technical liaison with all suppliers and contractors. Evaluate Electrical choices clearly identifying Electrical risk and the benefits to whole life cost.
