Working within our forward-thinking Water Treatment department, you have the chance to join as a Team Manager and to lead the team in Staverton. You’ll be responsible for delivering high-quality drinking water for our customers and be expected to drive a real shift towards asset optimisation. The focus will be continuous improvement whilst working collaboratively with multiple stakeholders including the Water Treatment leadership team, capital delivery, planning & scheduling, water quality and process teams.

 

You’ll will lead, motivate, and develop the team ensuring safety, quality and competence are central to the way we work.

 

The role will include being part of a regional standby rota which operates 24/7, 365 days a year.

 

EVERYTHING YOU NEED TO KNOW

 

Your key accountabilities in helping us will be:

 

  • You’ll proactively operate and manage all assets across Gloucestershire Groundwaters.
  • You’ll lead, motivate and develop a team of highly skilled technical operators, maintainers plus a Senior Technician to ensure minimal asset failure / maximum resilience.
  • Lead performance improvement and sustainability through Comm Cells and ‘Safer Better Faster’ techniques.
  • You’ll work collaboratively with multiple stakeholders including maintenance, capital delivery, property, water quality, ICA and water resources to ensure routine operational and longer-term investment objectives are delivered.
  • Focus on operational failure cost and performance improvement/sustainability through continuous improvement tools and techniques. Responsible for driving these changes into the business and embed a culture of right 1st time.

 

WHAT YOU’LL BRING TO THE ROLE

 

Experience of working within an operational environment with a focus on driving and sustaining performance improvements would be advantageous. You’ll also be working to tight deadlines, under pressure and with evolving and/or conflicting priorities including emergency situations. Having good analytical, facilitation and problem-solving skills with the ability to understand Management Information and solve problems on a daily would be beneficial. In addition, having good planning and organisational skills with the ability to set clearly defined goals, manage time effectively and identify and organise resources needed to accomplish tasks would be desirable.
