Maintenance Technician - Instrumentation

Our Wastewater Recycling team have a great opportunity for you to join as our new Maintenance Instrumentation Technician.

 

As a Maintenance Instrumentation Technician, you will be ensuring treatment plants and processes are operating efficiently whilst maintaining quality outputs. It’s a great opportunity to be become multi-skilled and develop your career further.  The role is pivotal in to meeting tough local and function wide targets around quality, continuous supply, safety, and cost control. You’ll carry out routine maintenance and recover PLC and HMI equipment from a failed state.  

 

As a member of the team you will be responsible for the reactive and proactive maintenance of electrical, instrumentation and automation across the area. The successful candidate will participate in a stand-by rota with a fantastic reward in return. 

 

A company van and fuel card will be provided along with all tools and specialist equipment required to carry out the role, We look to progress your technical skills to enable you to become an LV SAP along with all additional technical training. Any additional technical training required will also be covered and great working hours too (Monday - Thursday 7.30am-3.30pm and Friday 7.30am-3pm). 

 

Some of your other key accountabilities will include:

 

 Carry out the repair and maintenance of electrical motor drive systems and associated control systems including Inverter drives and basic motor starting.   
•Operating motor starters and variable speed drives 

•Maintain and repair process control loops for pump control and chemical dosing.  
• Fault diagnostics, repair and modification of programmable logic controllers and ladder logic.  

 •Maintenance and repair of treatment process control systems, specifically 4-20mA control loops 
•Support the company’s drive to improve safety standards 
•Responsible for ensuring all activities are performed in a safe and diligent manner to ensure regular feedback on issues arising before, during and following activities that are carried out 
•Must be willing to train as an electrical Senior Authorised Person, LV (SAP) 

  

WHAT YOU’LL BRING TO THE ROLE

 

As an Instrumentation Technician having significant experience of PLC control, ladder logic data paths and Scada type systems would be advantageous.  

 

Its beneficial to have NVQ Level 3 or equivalent in Electrical/Instrumentation Engineering or similar discipline and 18th Edition qualification. A full valid UK driving license would be essential.
