Severn Trent is recruiting for an experienced Team Manager within our Waste Water Recycling department based in the Hinkley area. 

 

In the role, the Team Manager will be expected to…

 

  • Develop and lead a high performing multifunctional team to deliver a consistently great service
  • Demonstrate an effective collaborative working relationship with Bioresources & stake holder on site
  • To operate and maintain assets safely, compliantly and efficiently
  • Demonstrate an effective collaborative working relationship with Net Zero Project
  • Work proactively with all our stakeholders e.g. Environment Agency & DWI
  • Embrace and facilitate change within the team
  • Ensure permit compliance
  • Demonstrate year on year efficiencies in Power & Chemical optimisation
  • Proactively Operate and maintain all waste assets on site
  • Be an ambassador for Severn Trent Water in your community
  • Promote investment where the driver is process improvement, safety or efficiency
  • Lead performance improvement and sustainability through Comm Cells  and ‘Safer Better Faster’ techniques
  • Manage a c£5.7m budget and deliver efficiency savings in line with the company’s Opex challenge
  • Lead and develop collaboration with other supporting functions within the business
  • Contribute to company-wide strategy and initiatives

 

WHAT YOU’LL BRING TO THE ROLE

  • A proven track record in managing, leading and inspiring teams in a customer-focused operational environment.
  • Experience of dealing with complex employee relations and performance issues.
  • Ability to work to targets, to work under pressure and in emergency situations
  • Budget experience including planning and control                                   
  • Good network of contacts across the business to support delivery                       
  • Knowledge of regulatory requirements and procedures.    
  • Good knowledge of wastewater treatment processes and associated performance metrics                                               
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to influence and present information in a clear, logical and informative way.
  • The ability to lead and inspire diverse teams by providing clear direction, setting appropriate standards of behaviour and motivating and empowering others.
  • Good analytical, facilitation and problem solving skills with the ability to understand Management Information and solve problems on a daily basis.
  • Good planning and organisational skills with the ability to set clearly defined goals, manage time effectively and identify and organise resources needed to accomplish tasks.
  • The ability to work productively in a high pressure environment whilst maintaining a positive and flexible attitude.
  • The ability to make prompt, clear decisions which may involve tough choices or considered risks.
