At Severn Trent, we’re embarking on an exciting £415m project to replace 870 miles of old water pipes across the Midlands – and we want you to be part of it. The new pipes we’re installing will last for up to 100 years. This is the biggest investment in water infrastructure in the region in a decade, and it’s set to improve water quality, reduce leaks, and make our water supply more reliable for millions of people. We’re looking for a Transformation Project & Change Manager to join our Chief Engineer team on this exciting Mains Renewal programme.
EVERYTHING YOU NEED TO KNOW
As a Transformation Project & Change Manager (12- month fixed term), you will be a key player in the end-to-end project identifying & offsetting the risks whilst promoting and implementing opportunities to deliver this plan.
The key accountabilities for the role are:
- You will be integral in developing an innovative approach to streamline the current Severn Trent design process map. With the north star goals being:
- Reduce overall design time,
- A seamless re-design process,
- Implement automation where possible within the design process (this will be involving the adoption of novel software to achieve our goals).
- You will be responsible for ensuring we have a data driven approach to inform the AMP8 design strategy to determine trackable benefits by PowerBi i.e. time gains, which stage design is at, what are the blockers along with other metrics.
- One of a few key members of the team that will be responsible for defining our approach for the design strategy.
- Able to adapt and react to a “start-up” like workspace, navigate and provide solutions for the continuous improvement and problem solving that will be required.
- Responsible for writing and presenting your findings to key senior stakeholders to gain their buy-in against key milestones of the project.
- Resource and budget accountability as the project progresses.
- You will establish and maintain a great working relationship with key internal and external stakeholders including Design Teams, Commercial Capital Services, Chief Engineering, Water Networks.
WHAT YOU'LL BRING TO THE ROLE
The right skills and experience are important. But if you have the right character, positivity, and a caring attitude we want to talk to you, too. In this role we will look for you to have previous stakeholder management and great communication skills. You will also have experience working in or knowledge around implementing CDM regulations in delivery of projects. A full UK driving licence will be required.
When working with the business and have demonstratable experience of working on multiple projects at any one time. We will look for you to have team management experience as well.
