Hello, we’re Severn Trent Services a commercial arm of the Severn Trent Group. We provide water and waste services to companies nationwide, including the MoD and The Coal Authority.

Due to an increase in number of requests to tender for services from new and existing clients, we require a Bid Writer to join our growing team within Oren Environmental along with supporting the wider business with a portfolio of future projects.

EVERYTHING YOU NEED TO KNOW

 

As our Bid Writer will be to engage and coordinate with all STS business units and to ensure the creation and assembly of information into strong coherent and compelling bids.

Additionally, you’ll play a key role within a driven and engaged team which has a passion and desire to grow our company. You’ll also prepare written submissions including formal tenders and detailed proposals for works and services.
 

The other key accountabilities of the role are:

 

  • Update and maintain a library of tender response documents for all business areas and evaluate requests tenders and identify assessment criteria focus areas.
     
  • Identify critical success factors which ensure winning bids, while briefing management of business unit teams to ensure creation of high-quality responses for all topics.
     
  • Assemble, publish, and submitted tender documentation to the highest standards, which will also include copy writing and proof reading. You’ll also support Severn Trent Services Business Units in the structuring of proposals and other documentation. 

 

WHAT YOU’LL BRING TO THE ROLE

 

To succeed in this role, you’ll have experience with bid management and tender compilation, working with operational teams to create winning submissions and a good understanding of the importance of Financial and Commercial issues on tendering.

 

Additionally, you’ll have the ability to communicate at all levels, develop and maintain good customer and supplier relationships. An awareness of the external market place and work within a pressurised environment. You’ll also have a can-do-attitude and have strong written and commercial skills.

 

It would be desirable but not essential if you have operations or engineering experience in the utilities or public sector or working with local authorities.
 

As travel is required, you’ll also need to hold a full U.K driving license.
