Key Account Manager
Hello, we’re Severn Trent Services a commercial arm of the Severn Trent Group. We provide water and waste services to companies nationwide, including the MoD and The Coal Authority.

Which is why we are looking for a new Key Account Manager to join our Water Services Contracts business unit.
EVERYTHING YOU NEED TO KNOW
In this role you will ensure clients' needs are met with exceptional service, meeting expectations for quality, timeliness, and cost. Advise on water and wastewater regulations, manage a regional portfolio, and maximize up-sale opportunities. Oversee contract performance and financials, resolve client issues, and work cross-functionally for future planning.
Build and maintain client relationships, adopt best practices, and influence industry changes. Lead customer reviews, identify new prospects, create tactical plans, and build strategic plans. Hold educational events, lead team meetings, and present to senior leadership.
Some of your key accountabilities will be:
- Maintain and ensure compliance with all policies, procedures and standards whether Severn Trent, client, regulatory, statutory or legal obligations.
- Ensure payments are made and revenue collected to balance account and ensure KPIs & SLAs are adhered to, as well as customer expectations being met.
- Reporting of any issues / complaints or discrepancies engaging with all organisations to ensure resolution in a timely manner and work collaboratively with the wider MoD Projects team to drive a successful and compliant business.
- Understand and improve performance against standards set internally, externally and by clients and competitors. While managing and providing timely feedback to the management team.
- Deliver accurate measures and findings to the management team to assist with decision making for the future.
- Build and maintain effective relationships with both internal and external stakeholders ensuring a trusting relationship with clients and potential clients
WHAT YOU’LL BRING TO THE ROLE
To be successful in this role you should be well-versed in the water and wastewater industry, including regulatory, statutory, and legal obligations. You must demonstrate relevant industry experience with infrastructure services, including operations, systems, and solutions similar to those provided by Severn Trent Services and the ability to build trusting relationships are essential.
You’ll understand company KPIs and regulatory targets relevant to business development.
Commercial awareness, the ability to identify and apply industry standards, and a strong track record of stakeholder engagement and management are also important. You should be driven to deliver personal, team, and company objectives, tackle demanding tasks, and understand the costs of failure. Problem-solving skills to enhance customer experience, technical understanding of water and wastewater assets, excellent customer service, and experience managing key accounts and relationships with external stakeholders are crucial.
A full U.K driving licence will also be required.
The role holder will need to be able to secure and retain full MoD (SC) security clearance.
