Overview:

 

This 4-day work experience will give you a hands-on look into the operational side of Severn Trent. You’ll spend time with teams who are essential to keeping water flowing and wastewater treated. Whether it’s visiting treatment sites or learning about how we manage our water network, you’ll see what goes on behind the scenes to make sure our communities have the water they need.

 

Things you might Learn:

 

  • How clean and wastewater is treated and managed safely
  • The importance of health and safety in our operations
  • Practical skills like site operations, equipment handling, and water quality checks
  • Problem-solving and teamwork in real-world situations
  • More about careers in engineering, operations, and environmental services

Ideal for:

 

This is perfect for students aged 14-25 who enjoy hands-on work, have an interest in engineering or environmental careers, and are curious about how things work.

 

Possible Placements:

 

  • Waste water recycling site maintenance and operation: Join us at one of our large water treatment sites, where you'll assist in maintaining and managing the daily operations involved in transforming wastewater into clean water.
  • Wastewater Recycling operations: Learn about the process of recycling wastewater to keep our communities safe and clean. (18+)
