Senior Project Manager

Want to do the best work of your life? Playing your part in making a big difference to the environment and communities we serve. Our people make Severn Trent a truly exciting and inclusive place to work – a place where you can be yourself and let your skills shine.

Our purpose is taking care of life’s essentials, but we’re also big on making a difference, not just because we should but because we care.

Which is why we are investing over £2billion into construction projects over the next five years to improve the services we provide.

Within our Capital Design and Delivery department, we are looking for a Transformation Work-Stream Manager to support our capital and digital transformation initiatives within Capital and Commercial Services.

Are you an experienced Project Manager with a capital design, delivery or digital transformation background?

Well, if you are, read on.

EVERYTHING YOU NEED TO KNOW

Reporting to the Digital Transformation Lead, the Project Manager will work in collaboration with external and key internal partners across Severn Trent to deliver against the Capital Design, Delivery and digital transformation ambitions. Working on a diverse portfolio like capital design and delivery programs, AI, legacy systems decommissioning, new digital systems rollout, you will drive change and deliver the projects defined within your work-stream to agreed quality and timescale.

Collaboration, taking responsibility for programme management, governance and documentation are key to the role. You will actively contribute to the wider programme with timely feedback, further opportunities, manage high level risks as issues and well as contribute to team development and progression.

On a day-to-day basis, you will work closely with key internal and external stakeholders, and support various project delivery teams. You will be confident with financial and business metrics, and understand the levers that can be deployed to effect change.

WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR

Ideally degree-qualified in a related discipline, you will be a proven programme or experienced project manager with a passion for all things capital design, delivery or digital with recognised potential for programme management capabilities. You will have experience of delivering change in a rapidly-evolving, multi-matrix organisation, with experience of taking strategic ideas and turning them into tactical projects to be delivered. You will have experience of benefit identification, definition and delivery planning as well as coaching, training and delivering feedback at all levels.

You will have excellent project management, internal and external stakeholder management skills, with the ability to build relationships with a diverse range of people. You will be a forward thinking innovator, capable of anticipating challenges and responding to change in a rapidly evolving environment. You will be able to make educated judgments and decisions in the face of ambiguity, and have a good grasp of the bigger picture, seeking opportunities to contribute to the wider agenda.

We welcome people from all walks of life and celebrate individuality as we know diverse minds, experiences and backgrounds help us to learn and better serve our communities. We employ thousands of people from across our community who really care about what they do. Because that is how we do what we do.

And when it comes to inclusion, we’re making sure we keep up the progress with our wonderful working groups – LGBTQ+, Women in Operations & STEM, Disability and Ethnicity; who help us do just that.

We do more, because we care.
