With that in mind we’re looking for a Health, Safety and Wellbeing Technical Expert to help us as we do so.

EVERYTHING YOU NEED TO KNOW
As a Health, Safety and Wellbeing Technical Expert you’ll support risk assessments, investigations and compliance and will lead on issuing and tracking recommendations to closure.
This role will have a current focus on the mains laying programme, therefore we are looking for a highly motivated self-starter with a good level of health and safety knowledge in the construction space. A good understanding of CDM regulations, health and safety in excavations, risk assessment and controls is a must for this exciting role.
Within the role, you’ll identify, develop, track and manage mitigation of risks by driving continuous risk reduction and communicate the importance of risk reduction measures put in place. Therefore, it's key that you are a self-motivated individual, who has a genuine care for what you do.
We are flexiable on office location for this role to be based at any of our Severn Trent hubs (Coventry, Raynesway or Shelton)
WHAT YOU’LL BRING TO THE ROLE
In order to succeed in this role, it is expected that you will have an ability to proactively promote the Severn Trent Group Health and Safety culture and ensure compliance in line with Company standards, the Business Strategy and industry best practice. In role, you’ll also provide second line assurance against our Health and Safety Framework so if you’re IOSH qualified, that’s an extra bonus.
You will need to have an ability to challenge confidently and positively when things aren’t compliant with the Severn Trent, or H&S way. For this reason, it would be key that coming into the role you are able to build solid relationships. You'll also use those relationships to provide guidance, coaching and issuing pragmatic recommendations to operational colleagues.
You’ll need to be able to use IT systems. It goes without saying you’ll have excellent communication skills and demonstrate the ability to influence colleagues of all levels effectively. You`ll have strong organisational skills and you`ll be able to work on own initiative.
Within this role a high level of construction safety skills and knowledge will be required.
