EVERYTHING YOU NEED TO KNOW
Our Network Response team have an opportunity for you to join as our new Network Inspector.
In your new role, you’ll have the objective to operate and maintain our underground clean water network to maintain a continuous supply of the highest standard of drinking water to all of our customers.
With a mixture of reactive and proactive work this role will give you a new challenge every day. One day you would work on reactive work such as, preventing loss of, maintain or restore water supplies for our customers. Then on another day you would work on planned work such as ensuring our clean water network is maintained to a high standard by carrying out activities like mains flushing, filter changes, valve and ancillary asset checks.
So, are you a Network Inspector, who is comfortable working alone, in towns, cities or in rural locations and knowledge of water distribution network?
Some of your other key accountabilities will include:
- You’ll be accountable for your own health & safety and have a duty of care to your colleagues & anyone affected by the work you do, such as the general public / site personal. Required to conduct dynamic risk assessments and put in place suitable controls to ensure work can be conducted safely. There is a need to exercise judgment / balance on the resourcing of these activities, the risk / impact of activities to our customers, the general public, and road-traffic users and to ensure compliance with our statutory, regulatory and company standards at all times.
- Perform the duties of the role in compliance with statutory or regulatory standards, e.g. – hygiene, NRSWA (New Roads & Street Works Act) and environmental which will include the setting up of traffic management required to enable safe and effective clean water network operations.
- The 24/7 reactive or planned deployment and safe operation of our clean water bowsers and continuous supplies equipment, to inject into our network to restore supplies or prevent loss of supplies to our customers.
- The regular routine maintenance of the key equipment (e.g. Chlorination equipment, Incident Response Vehicles, Power Bowsers, Static Bowsers, pumps etc.) will be undertaken as part of this role so that it is at a constant state of readiness. This could include: confirming that there are sufficient fittings and consumables on all vehicles; chlorination of all relevant equipment; pump efficiency testing; pump splitting and maintenance of individual component parts.
WHAT YOU’LL BRING TO THE ROLE
We’re seeking our new Network Inspector to be comfortable performing the duties of the role in compliance statutory or regulatory standards or regulatory standards, e.g. – hygiene, NRSWA (New Roads & Street Works Act) and environmental which will include the setting up of traffic management required to enable safe and effective clean water network operations.
To be successful, you’ll have the ability to a deliver great customer experience, be computer literate and have knowledge of the utilities industry such as electricity, gas oil or cabling.
Due to the nature of the work you’ll also hold a full and valid Category B driving licence a minimum.
