EVERYTHING YOU NEED TO KNOW

 

Our Bioresources team have an opportunity for you to join as our new Process Scientist, based at Barnhurst our Wolverhampton site covering Shropshire and Staffordshire.  As part of the Bioresources Process Optimisation Team you are responsible for providing technical advice to all our Bioresources treatment facilities.

 

In your new role, you will organise and complete failure investigations to identify and resolve the root cause of the non-compliance, resolving issues and ensuring the learning is shared to prevent reoccurrence.  You will provide support to the commissioning of new plants and processes with the Capital Delivery Team and provide a technical knowledge that supports the integration of new schemes.  You’ll also ensure that all aspects of the role are performed safely and compliant with the relevant legislation and the Biosolids Assurance Scheme.

  

Additionally, you will be involved in monitoring asset performance of a variety of sludge processes through sampling, analysis of scientific data and leading initiatives to maintain and improve performance.  You will be expected to utilise a continuous improvement attitude to identify process strengths and weakness and play a key role in the delivery of environmental improvement activities within the region. 

 

Some of your other key accountabilities will include:

 

  • Accountable for providing technical advice on all aspects of sludge treatment

 

  • Proactively look at trend analysis and complete mitigating actions to resolve process issues.

 

  • Assess the impact on operations of changing methods of work or taking assets out of service for maintenance.

 

  • Provide technical advice and monitoring during commissioning of capital projects including development of commissioning plan.

 

  • Identify, support, set standards and deliver training for on-site testing and process knowledge development.

 

 

 

WHAT YOU’LL BRING TO THE ROLE

 

We’re seeking our new Process Scientist with a strong process engineering or scientific background ideally with the relevant degree or experience.  You’ll  be comfortable at prioritising workload covering several sites across the Severn Trent region.

 

To be successful, it’s expected that you’ll have excellent communication skills, have experience  with analytical and problem solving skills, with the ability to interpret trends and making the complex simple for key decision makers. The use of excel and Power Bi would be beneficial for interpreting and reporting on performance.

 

A full UK driving licence is required as the role will require travel within the Severn Trent Water region.
